Esther began working as Food Service Director at Ardmore Baptist Church in early 2000.
Esther was born in Texas, raised in California, and lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania before landing in North Carolina. Her love of cooking and feeding people began with careers in school systems, hospitals, and restaurants. She spent seven years as a civilian cook in the Army, serving 500 soldiers three meals a day.
Esther is the mother of one son and two daughters, grandmother to nine grandchildren, and a great-grandmother.
In her spare time, Esther likes to look at magazines and cookbooks, read her Bible, and watch Charles Stanley on television. She is inspired by the air we breathe, people she meets on the street, people she serves, and anyone who teaches her anything.
“After serving in many other fields, I am in ministry because I believe that God placed me here and the people at Ardmore have inspired me to stay here. The road I traveled certainly prepared me for this ministry. My heroes are Charles Stanley and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Sorry, Carolina fans). I absolutely love my dogs, who are my constant companions.”
