Elizabeth Lopina began as Ardmore’s part-time Children and Student Assistant on November 28, 2016. She has worked on and off at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (where she is also a member) in their Children’s Formation department, most recently as the Interim Children’s Minister. Other past positions include Event Staff for WinMock at Kinderton, Administrative Assistant for a local commercial developer, and Volunteer/Middle School Coordinator for Crosby Scholars.
Elizabeth is a native of West Virginia. She was born in Huntington, WV, but moved to Ripley, WV in fifth grade. Her family moved to Portsmouth, OH the summer before her junior year in high school. Elizabeth went to college at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
Elizabeth and her husband, Andrew, have been married for 18 years and have three children: Nicholas, 15, Sarah, 13, and Mary Catherine, 10.
Elizabeth enjoys reading, culling Pinterest for new recipes, crafting, and volunteering at a local community theatre. Although she doesn’t consider herself a writer, she published a book of women’s inspirational stories titled Triumphant. She likes watching “her” teams on TV with her son. Her varied allegiances include the Green Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers, Xavier University basketball, and West Virginia University football. As a Huntington native, she also roots for Marshall.
Fun fact about Elizabeth: For the past several years she has been conducting family research for herself and friends. She spends plenty of time on Ancestry.com, and has found many connections and answered questions, which she has found to be very rewarding.
“I am so grateful to be working at Ardmore Baptist Church where everyone has been so nice and supportive. Although I am a cradle Episcopalian, my family has Baptist roots. My paternal great-grandfather was a Baptist minister and helped build churches throughout West Virginia, and my maternal great-great grandfather was also a Baptist minister.”
