Amy Gallaher has been the Minister of Missional Engagement at Ardmore Baptist Church since November of 2019.

Although she was born in and lived her first seven years in Greensboro, North Carolina, she spent most of her childhood in Hungary. As the daughter of CBF Field Personnel who served the Romany in Eastern Europe, she grew up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) giving her a unique strength for moving about different cultures and learning the value of advocacy. She received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Campbell University and felt a call to ministry, which led her to work on a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School. She served as a Community Life Pastor at Mosaic Church of Clayton where she was also ordained to gospel ministry. From there she discerned a calling to chaplaincy at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, NC where she worked part-time for 4 years.

“All of my life God has been slowly, steadily working on my heart and through my life to lead me into missional engagement. As a child, I saw firsthand the need for God’s people to be present all over the world, to advocate for those without voices, to feed and clothe those without resources, and to love unconditionally in the most relational ways possible. I knew when this position opened up at Ardmore that God had been leading me to it since I was a child. I thank God and Ardmore for the opportunity to serve alongside this community of Winston-Salem and throughout the world.”

Amy’s husband Tyler serves as a veterinarian. Together, they have a son, JT, and an energetic dog, Sandy.
