Susan Griffin began as Administrative Assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church in August 2000, and became the Financial Assistant in February 2012. Susan has been a member of Ardmore Baptist Church since October 1990.
Born in Louisville, KY and later raised in Speedway (Indianapolis), IN, she is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Susan began her professional life working as an actuary for insurance companies in Indiana, Illinois, and later North Carolina.
Susan has been married to Charles Griffin since September 2015. She has two adult children: a daughter, Amanda Manna, and a son, Aaron Denton.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys reading historical fiction, knitting, spending time with her family, traveling, and playing the oboe with the Winston-Salem Community Band. She is inspired by music of all types. To Susan, music stirs the soul and soothes the spirit. She has found some of the most holy moments in her experience as a result of hearing, singing, or playing music.
Fun fact about Susan: She once had dinner with Tom Lester, who played the character “Eb” on the television show “Green Acres.” Eb was the guest speaker at a Youth event in Indianapolis organized by her father back in the late 1960s. Since her father was hosting him, Susan’s family took him out to dinner after the event. “He was a lot of fun!”
“I am in ministry because I believe God called me. I grew up as a PK (Preacher’s Kid) so I have a lifetime of experience in how church “works.” I love serving the members of this congregation in any way that I’m able. My parents are my heroes. I’ve watched them live lives dedicated to the service of Jesus Christ.”
