Mike Nuckolls began as Minister of Missional Engagement at Ardmore on June 20, 2015. In May, 2016, he also took on the role of Church Administrator.

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, Mike is a 1992 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After working as controller of a small publishing company in Durham, he returned to school to earn a Master of Divinity degree at Campbell University Divinity School in 2003. Mike felt called to work with at-risk children and earned a Master of Counseling degree from Wake Forest University in 2007.

Prior to coming to Ardmore, Mike served as school counselor at Mineral Springs Elementary. He has been active in local, national and international lay mission work throughout his career. In addition to serving at Ardmore, he maintains a private counseling practice and is an adjunct instructor in Wake Forest’s online counseling program.

Mike and his wife Lisa have one son, Liam. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Childhood Development from The University of Florida, and was a teacher in South Florida before moving to Winston-Salem. She is currently a first grade teacher at Mineral Springs Elementary School.

“While my mother certainly is a hero to me for teaching me how to selflessly care for others, my ‘little’ brother Quinton Pratt is perhaps my biggest hero. In his health-shortened life, Quinton taught me how to persevere, laugh like a kid, be patient and encouraging, and become excited about helping others.

“I am in ministry because God wouldn’t let go of me. My calling to Ardmore is no doubt God’s hand pushing me to employ my passion for encouraging others to reach out to the least of these using what I have gained in business, leadership skills and experience in working with people hurting and in need.”
