Jeanell Brown began as Organist at Ardmore Baptist in January 2020.
Jeanell Brown received a DMA in collaborative piano from University of Maryland where she studied piano, fortepiano, harpsichord, opera and chamber music. She completed a MM from the University of the Pacific and a BM from Wesleyan College, studying piano, organ, and church music.
As a free lance musician, she performed often as a collaborative and solo pianist while serving in several churches as an organist/choirmaster. She is a published author with a passion for American music of all styles. Jeanell moved back to her home state four years ago after being a music department chair at Covenant College. During that time, she was active in community arts, church music, musical theatre and of course the lives of hundreds of students.
Jeanell lives with a German Shepherd dog named “Macho” who was transplanted here from Frankfurt, Germany. She has traded her love of downhill skiing for travel, gardening and cooking and is an avid champion of animal protection and rescue. Her life verse is Romans 8:28 confirming that God is still refining and working out life details. The next chapter is finding ways to use gifts and experiences in the creative worship at Ardmore.
