The week of July 22 – 27 was amazing. It was Ardmore’s second Summer Children’s Music and Arts Camp. We saw God at work as forty volunteers and teaching staff interacted with fifty children. What a great outreach. Forty of the children were not from our congregation. In fact, one of the children had never been inside a church, and had never heard about Jesus (Yes, this child lives in Winston-Salem!). The Lord brought the world to our doors. One of the youth workers was from Hong Kong, visiting a family from our Chinese congregation. The fifty children were representative of the diverse cultures and backgrounds of the Winston-Salem community. Three kids from Ashley Academy were able to attend.

As camp pastor Lee Ritchie and the faculty shared the nine qualities of the “Fruit of the Spirit” during the week, the children’s lives were filled with Christ’s love. They were challenged to develop the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in their young lives. We witnessed God at work as our Ardmore youth took leadership roles, captivating and influencing the lives of these children in wonderfully loving and energetic ways. What a great job! We thank God for all the seeds that were sown in the young lives of those who attended this year’s camp. To God be the glory!
