Several of our Ardmore members are involved in the Christmas Gift Mart, the Love Out Loud toy store that serves families all over the city. As part of Christmas for the City, it helps about 300 families to reduce the cost of buying toys for their children.
This year we have focused on providing bikes to more kids and have collected around 90 bikes. I am overwhelmed at how God has created this ministry and has sent people who have a like-vision for reaching people for Christ. In addition, the cycling community in our area has responded to expand this ministry to reintroduce riding a bike to children in their neighborhoods.
On October 5 our “mechanic” team gathered for our first Bike Repair Day. Our crew worked tirelessly to get about 40 bikes ready for Gift Mart. It was a great day of service among talented, but humble men of God. We will hold another Repair Day on November 3 (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) to complete our work. I really don’t know where God is taking this ministry but I am happy to be his instrument and continue to be obedient in bringing people together in a community of faith.
