On a rainy Saturday in September, a team of Ardmore Baptist Church volunteers showed up to help at the Diaper Bank of North Carolina. It was part of the Love the City Missions Day.
Here are a couple of their stories:
“Among boxes of diapers at the NC Diaper Bank, an intergenerational group from ABC gathered to serve. We learned about the extreme need for diapers, and feminine and adult products in NC. Providing resources to families in need is life changing. Jesus teaches to love our neighbors and to serve. While we wrapped the diapers for distribution, we were mindful of the precious children and families that would receive them. In addition, we enjoyed working side by side with ABC members of all ages. I will definitely sign up again.”

“Why did I spend a perfectly good ‘stay in’ rainy Saturday morning doing a mission project with fellow Ardmore folks? On my way there, I thought I must have had one of those ‘senior moment’ experiences when I signed up. Returning home, my thoughts were how God used us to do a simple project that will make life better for others. That’s how He works, but I needed the focus. The fellowship was a bonus as we packaged diapers and personal hygiene items in Saran wrap and zip-lock bags. God wants us to love our neighbors, but He said nothing about Saran wrap.”
