Jason Cockerham, Justin Jones, and I served at the Samaritan Inn homeless shelter recently. “It’s easy,” Jason said as he implored others in our Sunday Bible Study the next day to serve. “Ya’ll ought to do it.” The fact that it is my job to recruit people to do missions sometimes seems to make it less appealing and easier for people to decline. I try not to take it personally and realize that not everyone will say ‘yes’. What I
know is that when lay ministers like Jason invite people to join them in ministering, it is far more effective and meaningful. This “Follow Me” model of ministry works. Now where have I heard that before?
