In 2021, Ardmore Baptist Church will be hosting a series of conversations with authors on important topics. This will be our opportunity to engage in dialogue about issues that might be difficult, controversial, or confusing. Rather than a traditional “book club” we want to focus on learning new things, hearing different perspectives, and ending each conversation with some tangible action steps for us all to challenge ourselves in new ways. We highly encourage that you purchase a copy of the book that will be discussed and come prepared with questions for the author. These conversations will take place via Zoom Webinar, but will also be available to be streamed on our Facebook and YouTube pages. If you would like to be able to ask questions via Zoom, you will need to register here to receive the Zoom link.
Our first discussion will be on the book On Vanishing: Mortality, Dementia, and What It Means to Disappear, by Lynn Casteel Harper.
Rev. Lynn Casteel Harper is the Minister of Older Adults at The Riverside Church in New York City. Prior to Riverside, she served as a nursing home chaplain for seven years. A graduate of Wake Forest University Divinity School, Lynn completed her chaplaincy residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Jersey. Originally from southeast Missouri, Lynn lives in Maine and New York City with her husband Ryan Harper.
