Hi! My name is Brook Fowler. I am in the 9th grade at Mount Tabor High School. In January, after our D’Now trip, I accepted Jesus in front of everybody. I had known him for a while, but I was always too scared to get up in front of everyone and make my profession. I’ve always had a big fear of being in front of big groups of people, but God gave me the courage to go up in front of everyone and make my decision public. My family, Youth leaders, and most importantly, one of my best friends in the whole world, helped me to make this decision and have courage.
I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 7 years old, after hearing the story from my Sunday School teacher of how Jesus died on the cross for me. That night, I prayed to Jesus and told him I accepted him. A couple years later, we had to leave the church that I had grown up in, and with it, all the people I had known since birth. We tested churches for a while, and it was very stressful for me because I didn’t know anyone and I was scared of the strangers that were coming up and smiling and acting all excited that we were there, but you could tell it wasn’t real. Then we came to Ardmore Baptist Church. Everyone was so welcoming, and I didn’t know at first, but I would get to know all of these people as the years went by. I started going to Sunday School, and around my third Sunday of being at Ardmore, I tried to make friends. There was one Chinese girl that was really pretty, but really quiet, and I wanted to be friends with her. I was in the fourth grade at the time. We became fast friends, and over the years our friendship has grown, and she has been a big part in my faith journey, and helped me to be more comfortable and confident here at Ardmore. I am thankful for the many people who have invested and impacted my life, and look forward to the years ahead and growth in my faith, and trust in Christ.
