God At Work …
Ardmore Baptist Preschool is a great outreach to our community. We serve almost 90 children. Many of them are from right here in our neighborhood. It is a beautiful sight each morning to see the families walking to school from the neighborhood. An important piece of this ministry is connecting families to our church. We have many events each year to welcome families and build relationships with church members. On October 31st, we had our annual Preschool Fall Festival. We had a hay ride pulled by a tractor driven by church member, Tim Tucker. We had a horse and chickens for the children to see, pet, and learn about from Savannah Dixon. Our art room allowed church members Jim Mabe, Carol Spears, and Terri Walters to meet families and work side by side with them. Aidan Dixon and Mike Nuckolls helped to run the games. It was great to have one of our youth and one of our ministers interacting with our preschoolers. Mary Elam and Linda Smith were a warm welcoming face to help serve a special Halloween snack mix. Teachers led music and story time allowing parents to have a moment to sit with their child on their lap and enjoy the time together. Opening our doors to our community and planting seeds in these small children is why we are here.
Oftentimes, God sightings are just the small things that happen around us each day, like kindness and gentle tender moments between two little ones, a hug for a friend that is hurt, or witnessing two of our parents praying together in the parking lot. Church members who offer their time to help at preschool events are a huge blessing to our program. God is present in our school each day and it is an honor to be a part of it.
