Next week I am so excited that two of my favorite moments of the week are returning: Sanctuary Prayers and Wednesday Morning Bible Study. We took a break in the summer due to everyone’s varied travel schedules, but these two offerings are coming back beginning on Wednesday, August 21.
Sanctuary Prayer, Wednesdays, 9:15-9:45 AM
On Wednesday mornings you are invited to join us in the Sanctuary for a time of intentional prayer. Some weeks we may have a short teaching on the role of prayer in our faith and other weeks we may have a time of silence as we contemplate what God is saying to us. Prayer is a vital part of what it means for us to be followers of Jesus and it feeds my soul so much to gather with other believers to pray together.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Wednesdays (duh), 10:00-11:00 AM
Wednesday mornings also feature an opportunity for in-depth, exegetical Bible Study. Since October 2023, we have been in the Gospel of Mark. We saw how Mark gives us a picture of Jesus as the Messiah and that Jesus also feels and empathizes with human experience. Jesus is also willing to do battle against the forces of darkness in the world.
We ended in the Spring by getting partway through chapter ten and we are going to pick right back up with where we left off. Each week we will explore a passage of Mark by looking at each phrase and mining it for meaning. If you haven’t been able to join us before, that’s okay, join us anyway!
