Next week is the General Assembly of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and this year it is meeting in Greensboro.
The theme of this year’s General Assembly is re:imagine. Together we free and faithful Baptists will be discerning how we can continue to shine the light of Good News into the world. I am looking forward to time with old friends, making new friends, and learning more about the work of CBF around the world.
Since we are meeting in Greensboro, many of the leaders of CBF will be traveling to our region. One of them is Rev. Laura Ayala who serves as the Coordinator for Global Missions for CBF. She is a wonderfully engaging leader who has brought energy and creativity to the missions ministries of CBF. On Sunday, June 16, Laura will be preaching in both services at Ardmore Baptist Church! I am very excited for you all to meet her and encourage the good work she is doing.
Additionally, Ardmore Baptist Church has been awarded the Mission Excellence Award. This annual award is given to three churches in CBF life who have placed missions at the core of their identity. On Friday, June 21, our Minister of Missional Engagement, Rev. Amy Gallaher, will be accepting the award on Ardmore’s behalf.
It’s an exciting time to be part of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and I am grateful to belong to a theological community that is committed to seeking God’s will for the future.
