Children's Mission Education
In living out our Mission Statement: "To connect people of all ages with Jesus Christ and each other in life changing relationships", we try to instill mission education early in the foundation of learning for our children at ABC. On Wednesday evenings at 6:20 p.m. (August - May of each year) our preschoolers and children are invited to participate in our age-graded Mission Education Program. We have classes for preschoolers - kindergarten (Mission Friends), boys - first-sixth grade (Royal Ambassadors), and girls - first-sixth grade (Girls in Action).
Mission Friends exists to begin building a strong educational foundation for preschoolers - kindergartners. Our goal is to teach our children why we are all called to tell others about Jesus' love for us. Our curriculum is well-formed to interact with preschoolers through stories, learning centers, art, music, and play. Each evening the children are encouraged to pray for our missionaries around the world and here at home, and to thank God for their work and ministry.
RAs exists to involve boys and their leaders in the spiritual process of developing an "on-mission" lifestyle. Royal Ambassadors utilizes activities that are designed to help children learn about missions and get them personally involved in practical mission experiences. We use the RA curriculum given out by the North American Mission Board. The Royal Ambassador program helps boys to become aware of the needs of people around the world and to respond to those needs. The Mission Education program of Ardmore Baptist Church seeks to lead boys to a personal commitment to Christ and to deepen their daily relationship with God and each other.
GAs exists to involve girls and their leaders in the spiritual process of developing an "on-mission" lifestyle. We provide opportunities through hands-on experiences, stories of missionaries, and cultural understanding activities in order for the girls to deepen their understanding of having an "on-mission" lifestyle. Our leaders use the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Mission curriculum, "Spark". The Mission Education program of Ardmore Baptist Church seeks to lead girls to a personal commitment to Christ and to deepen their daily relationship with God and each other. GAs learn that they can change their world as they:
- Learn about missions
- Pray for missions
- Give to missions
- Do missions
- And participate in the work of the church
