A Logo Is Words
The logo type we have selected is a pleasing combination of letter styles which indicate our tradition and relevance for today. The focal word, Ardmore, written in small caps in bold serif traditional type denotes our identity and location. Baptist Church, shown in a contemporary personal script font, suggests the progressive nature of our ministries to keep pace with the 21st century. There will also be a positioning statement, Connecting All Ages, which summarizes our mission statement and defines what this church is about.
The new colors, expanding upon the familiar earth tones, are derived from the architectural scheme of our new building - bronze, zinc, and copper tones.
A Logo Is A Symbol
Our new logo symbol resembles a diamond-shaped shield composed of four triangles with a cross in the center. The top two triangles form a subtle ‘A’ with the mirror image reflected in the bottom two triangles.
The overlapping, multi-level triangles point to the center and connect to form the whole, as do the various age groups of the Ardmore family.
The triangles also resemble the points on a compass, reaching out in all directions – north, south, east, west – symbolizing that our vibrant mission is to Winston-Salem and the world beyond.
The central cross reminds all that Christ is the primary message of the church and the cross is open to suggest that the light of Christ shines through.
